Wholly Crones
We start out by catching up on our lives and interests and then pivot to any number of interesting far-ranging topics. Sometimes a relevant current event in the community or church will trigger us. Sometimes a book (most recently: Women Rowing North), or an interesting/provocative idea, or a desire to accomplish something (most recently: how to let students at the U of I and WSU know of our welcoming community’s existence.) Give us a try.

On Monday October 6th, 2025, the Crones group met to assemble Comfort Kits for Planned Parenthood in Pullman to give out to women who had undergone a chemical abortion, the only kind available at the Pullman site.
This was the third batch of kits the Crones have prepared. The kits contain several large absorbent pads, a couple of disposable heating pads, warm fuzzy socks, chocolate bars, soothing tea bags, granola bars and some other items. We prepared 42 kits that day.
Here are a few photos of the Crones in action:

The Crones meet at the UUCP library on the first and third Monday of the month. Mary Jo also lead the UU MahJongg group which meets on the first Sunday of the month at 4 pm in the church library. We play Chinese-style Mah Jongg. Beginners are welcome. For more information about the Wholly Crones or the UU Mah Jongg group, please contact Mary Jo Hamilton or use our church contact form.
