Our minister is available to offer pastoral care for people who are struggling with loss, grief, or other challenges.  Pastoral care differs from therapy or counseling in that the minister does not attempt to fix problems or address mental health issues.  Rather, she provides a loving, accepting, hopeful presence, and, in doing so, makes it easier for people to get in touch with their own inner wisdom and strength.  She can meet one on one, or with couples or other people who are struggling with relationship issues to facilitate healthy communication and mutual understanding.  Additionally, we have a visiting team:  a cadre of folks who have had training in active listening who are available to visit those who find it difficult to get to church and those who are in hospitals or care facilities.
