Working in collaboration with the Nimíipuu (Nez Perce), we have re-written our Land Acknowledgement. Though for many years, we have lifted up the truth that our Church is built on the ancestral homelands of the Nimíipuu, we now seek to put action behind those words. Using Nimíipuu concepts to write a Memorandum of Understanding, we are celebrating the initiation of an expanded relationship between our two communities, seeking to improve communications and collaboration. May this strengthened relationship benefit the many Peoples of this Precious Land!
After the service we will come together: “POTLUCK: The sharing of food is a “gift” and is often synonymous with celebrating. We’re asking folks to celebrate with us, and bring your special potluck “gift” (dish) to share with our new Nimiipuu relations, and with each other.
