Religious Exploration at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse is a cooperative program relying on the assistance of a volunteer committee, volunteer teachers, and other volunteer helpers.
You may find you enjoy teaching, preparing classrooms, preparing lesson materials, cleaning up, being on the RE committee, or keeping the Yellow house organized.
Please contact contact our DLRE Ginger Yoder if you have a desire to contribute. Opportunities come up year around. We appreciate everyone who contributes to the Religious exploration program!
Family Promise at UUCP for 2 Weeks – Family Promise, which coordinates Palouse churches to shelter homeless families, has depended on our church from the beginning. The program is especially looking to us for help from March 24 to April 7 when families will stay with us for two weeks. Two-week hosting stretches are a challenge, especially this year when Easter falls during our volunteer time, but staying in one place for two weeks eases the burden for families who move week after week. To get ready for the challenge of a two-week stretch of hosting, we are circulating our sign-up early and encouraging people who haven’t had a chance to volunteer to give it a try. Michelle Hazen and Nancy Nelson, co-coordinators of Family Promise volunteers at the UUCP, would be happy to orient people and give a bit of training on how to be a helpful volunteer.
Here is the sign-up for volunteering:
Sunday Morning Hospitality – Fellowship Hour
Join the congregation in the church basement for coffee, tea, and fellowship following the Sunday morning service on the main floor. Sunday service starts at 10:00 a.m. and usually ends by 11:15 a.m., and Fellowship Time starts then and goes on for as long as people want to stay and chat.
Your assistance in helping set up and clean up before and after Sunday Fellowship would be greatly appreciated! Please use the signup link below. You’ll be taken to a site where you can choose what day(s) you can help. Thanks!
