Moscow-Pullman Meditation Group
The UUCP Moscow/Pullman Meditation Group continues to meet throughout the year on the second and fourth Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8pm on Zoom (Link: 956 016 2628).
We start with check-ins (all sharing is optional) and we may share how your practice is (or is not 😊) coming along. Then our facilitator, who has previously sent us an email about the program for each gathering, will guide us through what has been chosen to listen to, watch and discuss. There are always guided meditations and videos.
Recent past evenings have been about: The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World by Desmond Tutu, the Dalai Lama and Douglas Abrams; The Art of Life (a YouTube Documentary); discussions based on the book: The Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier and More Creative by Florence Williams; Mindfulness of the Body and Mind using the guided meditation of Jon Kabat-Zinn; and the healing power of writing.
We tend to practice secular mindfulness and meditation, but there is nothing inflexible about what we are all attempting to do as we practice acceptance, equanimity and peace in our lives. We are all beginners and seekers. We are affiliated and hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse and adhere to its principles. For information on that go here: https://www.uua.org/beliefs/what-we-believe/principles
We welcome those interested in mindfulness practices, no experience necessary.
