This Week in Religious Exploration

September 23 2018

10:00 am Classes:  Children arrive in the Yellow House after the Time for All Ages portion of the service.

Spirit Play Explorers (ages 3-Kindergarten): Orientation Session 2. We continue to learn about our classroom and how we can come together into community with love, respect and a sense of exploration.

Spirit Play Adventures (1st-3rd Grade):  Orientation Session 1.  We will explore our new classroom and remember how we can create a community of love, respect and adventure.

Grades 4-8:  Orientation and Session 1:  A World of Many Mountains.  On this our first meeting of the year we will be introduced to the idea of learning about other faith traditions through the metaphor of “Many Mountains”.  We will begin to explore just how many unique “mountains” it takes to make the world beautiful and how to be good visitors.

Parents of Youth 4th-8th:  We have a parent orientation this Sunday after church (11:45-12:30) that I would highly recommend coming to.  We will learn about the foundations and theological underlay of the Crossing Paths curriculum and get schedules, check contact information and be in general informed about the year.  We will have childcare workers on the playground to watch kids play if needed, and some light snacks.  If you can’t make it please email me and I will send schedules and such.

12:00 Classes:  Meet in the Yellow House at noon

High School Youth Group:  First Session of the year!  Come and be part of our first session of the fall where we will explore our new church-wide endeavor into theme based worship, Soul Matters, and how this will shape our year in youth group.
